Acne is a common medical term use for a skin infection. Actually This term is used for pimples, blackheads, whiteheads or even deeper lumps. Acne commonly appears on
face, chest, shoulders or upper side of the back. Acne develops when
one or more of the oil glands located in the skin become blocked
resulting in secretions and bacteria build up under the skin. Though
acne is not limited to any age group but mostly it affects teenagers.
It usually starts during the teen age and often continues till
adulthood. They are considered a sign of adulthood.
Some changes happen to women body just before when they get their
menstrual period. Pimples are one of them. Acne may become worse due
to stress and some oral contraceptives. A common misconception
prevailed among people is that some foods like chocolate and nuts
cause acne. Medical science rejected this false impression.
It is utmost important to properly treat the acne because acne mostly
appears on face and face is an important part of personality. Acne
cause loses of confidence in people and women especially avoid going
to public places due to pimples on their faces.
Acne can be controlled or treated in many different ways. Mild cases
of acne can be treated at home. For moderate or severe cases of acne,
dermatologist can prescribe antibiotics, topical medication, or other
medicines depending on the nature of the acne.
Prevention
Here are some tips that will help to prevent Acne:
• Wash your face twice a day with a mild soap like Dove, or one that
contains benzoyl peroxide, such as Oxy-Sensitive. Do not scrub or over
dry your skin, just give it a smooth touch.
• Increase water intake. Drink at least 8 glasses of water every day.
• Medical science confirmed that no food cause of acne. However, if
you feel that a specific food seems to cause pimples at your body, try
to avoid it.
